I happened to come across The Korean Cultural Center's page by chance a while back and saw that the applications for the classes were finally open. Everyone's after the language courses, so I opted for the 한식 class instead. I submitted my application on a whim and didn't expect to be chosen, but guess who's starting her cooking classes next week?
I don't really make Korean food that often at home. It's good that my husband gets to eat it at work while I practice. I can make decent 김치 찌개, but that's about it. I've tried making 반찬 here and there, but I'm just not satisfied with my skills. I mostly cook Filipino dishes since I'm familiar with how it tastes and I know when I'm making a mistake. I hope I can allot enough time for learning and not skip classes since things tend to get busy at home. Hopefully this would help me refine my cooking skills!
I've planned trips to Korea soooo many times in the past yet it just never happened. I really want to pay the hanbok museum a visit when we can finally go since I love studying patterns. These items were displayed at the first floor of the Korean Cultural Center and I still think this hanbok doesn't give the the ones in Korea enough justice. I took a picture of the seams and might try making one to wear at home when I get the time.
I've always wanted a 비녀! My hair only gets longer and heavier by the day. I'm not a fan of claw clips since they cause my hair to break so much. The only place I've seen that sells them online is 나스첸카, and they run around $140~14,000+.. my head hurts just looking at the price lol
My previous visit was very brief and I wasn't able to take as many photos as I would like.
I have yet to visit the library and other parts of the cultural center. I'll update more once my classes start!
